South Lake Tahoe Annual Events
Time your Tahoe Reset stay around the south shore’s signature happenings — from first chair in November to fireworks over the lake on the Fourth of July.
Time your trip to Tahoe Reset around the south shore’s signature happenings. These are the annual events worth planning a whole vacation around — from first chair in November to fireworks over the lake on the Fourth of July.
Winter
Heavenly Opening Day — Late November. The rope drops on ski season with a first-chair banner break, giveaways, and a DJ at the base. Tahoe Reset sits 7.5 miles from the lifts, so you’ll be on the snow before the crowds wake up. Read the opening-day guide →
Summer
Lights on the Lake Fireworks — July 4, 9:45 p.m. One of America’s top fireworks shows, launched from barges off the south shore and watched by 100,000+. The cabin is minutes from the best viewing beaches. Read the fireworks guide →
Heavenly Village Summer Concert Series — Fridays & Saturdays, Memorial Day weekend through mid-September. Free outdoor concerts on the village stage, 5:45–9:15 p.m. Dinner, music, stroll, hot tub. Read the concert guide →
Fall
Sample the Sierra — Mid-September. South Lake Tahoe’s food and wine festival takes over Bijou Community Park — minutes from the cabin — with regional chefs, wineries, breweries, and artisans. Read the festival guide →
Planning around events
Event weekends are the highest-demand dates of the year — the Fourth of July and opening weekend book out first. If you’re set on dates, reserve early. Shoulder-season events like Sample the Sierra are the sweet spot: great weather, thinner crowds, and easier booking.
Beyond the big four
The events above are the anchors, but the south shore’s calendar runs year-round. Winter brings rail jams and pond-hockey tournaments at the resorts; spring means pond skimming and closing-day parties; summer adds farmers’ markets, outdoor movie nights, and the American Century celebrity golf championship at Edgewood; fall delivers Oktoberfest at Camp Richardson and harvest dinners around the lake. There’s almost always something on — check the local event calendars as your trip approaches. Whatever weekend you pick, Tahoe Reset puts you in the middle of it: 4 bedrooms, sleeps 8, hot tub, fireplace, and the dogs are welcome too.
