Bijou & Al Tahoe: Your Neighborhood
The closest exploring to Tahoe Reset — Bijou and Al Tahoe are in-town South Lake Tahoe neighborhoods just minutes from your front door.
Bijou and Al Tahoe are the neighborhoods right around Tahoe Reset — 2 to 4 miles away, five to ten minutes by car, an easy bike ride on the trail system. This is the most local-feeling part of South Lake Tahoe: tree-lined streets, historic cabins, and the community park where half the town seems to end up on a Saturday.
Bijou Community Park
Bijou Community Park is the town’s backyard. The disc golf course is one of the most played in the basin, the dog park is a must-visit when you’re traveling with pups (and you are — Tahoe Reset welcomes 1–2 dogs), and there’s a skate park, playground, and golf course for good measure. It’s also home to Sample the Sierra, the annual food and wine festival each September. Morning at the dog park, afternoon at the festival — that’s a perfect September Saturday.
Al Tahoe and the lakefront
Al Tahoe is one of South Lake Tahoe’s oldest neighborhoods, and it shows in the best way: classic cabins under big pines, quiet streets, and quick access to the lake at Lakeview Commons and El Dorado Beach. The Commons hosts summer concerts and has a swimming beach with a playground — it’s the easiest lakefront from the cabin, and the 4th of July fireworks (Lights on the Lake) are practically in your front yard.
Live like a local
Staying in this part of town means groceries, coffee, and casual dining are minutes away without touching Highway 50’s tourist traffic. The South Lake Tahoe bike trail network threads through both neighborhoods, so you can ride to the beach, the park, or dinner. It’s the side of Tahoe the brochures skip — and the side our guests end up loving most.
Getting around
From Tahoe Reset you’re looking at 5 to 10 minutes to anywhere in Bijou or Al Tahoe. Bike it in summer, drive it in winter. Either way, this is your neighborhood for the trip — the park, the beach, and the dog park are all practically next door. And when friends ask where you stayed in Tahoe, “right in the Bijou neighborhood” sounds exactly like what it is: local.
