Round Hill: Nevada-Side Beaches
Six miles east of the cabin on Highway 50, Round Hill is a quiet Nevada neighborhood with two of the south shore’s best beach-and-marina combos.
Round Hill is a residential neighborhood on the Nevada side, tucked between Highway 50 and the mountains about 6 miles east of Tahoe Reset (12 to 15 minutes). With just over 200 homes, no HOA, and the Tahoe Rim Trail at its back door, it’s where the lake’s east-shore locals live — and where visitors find the beaches the day-trippers drive past.
Round Hill Pines Resort
The centerpiece is Round Hill Pines Resort at 300 Highway 50 — a sandy beach, full marina with boat, jet ski, kayak, and paddleboard rentals, lakeview dining, and cruises toward Emerald Bay. Note for planners: the resort has announced a renovation closure with a posted reopening in 2027, so check their website for current status before building a beach day around it. When it’s open, it’s one of the most complete beach days on the south shore.
Nevada Beach
Less than a mile away, Nevada Beach is the reliable alternative: a long, soft, sandy shoreline with barbecue grills, picnic tables, and room to spread out. It’s a favorite for families — shallow entry, plenty of space, and a fraction of the bustle of the California-side beaches. Arrive before noon on summer weekends; the parking lot is the only real constraint.
Trails and the neighborhood
Round Hill’s back door opens onto hiking and mountain biking trails, including connections toward the Tahoe Rim Trail. It’s also an easy cruise from here to the Stateline casinos for dinner or a show, and to Zephyr Cove for the M.S. Dixie II. The whole Nevada-side cluster — Round Hill, Zephyr Cove, Stateline — strings together into an easy half-day loop from the cabin.
Getting there from the cabin
Head east on Highway 50 past Stateline — Round Hill is about 6 miles, 12 to 15 minutes from Tahoe Reset, with lake views most of the way. It’s the closest Nevada-side beach access from the cabin, which makes it the default pick when the California beaches are packed.
Pair it with the east shore
Round Hill works best as part of an east-shore day. Start with a morning hike on the Tahoe Rim Trail connections behind the neighborhood, claim your beach spot by late morning, paddle or swim through the afternoon, then catch sunset from the sand — the west-facing shoreline here gets spectacular evening light. On the drive back, stop in Stateline for dinner; the casino corridor’s restaurants are an easy add-on without turning it into a late night. Back at the cabin, the hot tub and fireplace finish what the lake started.
